COACH CRUMBS: THE “NEW” MARKETING

We serve.

I call it “New Marketing.”

NEW MARKETING IS A SERVICE, NOT A MESSAGE.

As coaches, the tender-hearted souls that we are, we tend to cringe at the “used-car-salesman” style of “selling.”

We think that is what selling is.

We cringe so hard at the notion of “selling” that we end up not selling anything.

And then we wonder why nothing is selling!

A coach recently told me she “couldn’t call” three people she knew would be “perfect” for her services because that would feel “smarmy.”

How will they know about your amazing services if you call them and give them a taste?

I don’t know, maybe I’ll send them an email.

But an email is not nearly as personal and personable. Emails get ignored.

I don’t know. It just doesn’t feel right.

And that’s the thing, Coach.

We each have to figure out a way to make it feel right. We have to figure out our own way of marketing and selling with ease and grace.

We can’t stop at “it doesn’t feel right.”

For starters, the only way it will ever feel right is if you are convinced, to the core of your bones, that what you offer is life-changing and that it comes from your heart.

Marketing from your heart never feels “smarmy.” It doesn’t feel like marketing.

It feels “just right.”

It feels like you are serving others, not taking from them.

Make it your mission to figure this “new marketing” thing out and your business will soar.
