The old Self Care model is outdated and backwards.
Women expect (and deserve) more.
More when it comes to our health and our bodies.
More when it comes to our relationships, especially with the ones we love so hard.
More when it comes to our overall state of “being” as we go through life day to day.
More when it comes to being genuinely happy in our own skin.
The thing is, while we deserve and expect more, it’s entirely up to us to go out and get more.
And, by the way, a mani-pedi or a new handbag or even reading a book under a tree (not to mention that vacay in Italy) DOES NOT EQUAL MORE when it comes to Self Care.
Because none of those is enough to bring us fully into ourselves. Yes, we want to do all those fun things… they’re necessary… but they don’t go to the heart of what it takes to you really take care of you, on the inside.
They’re simply the icing on an unbaked cake.
We are the cake, and we need to be properly “baked.” (LOL… me and my metaphors!)
What I’m saying is, Self Care needs to be much more sophisticated because we’re a whole lot more sophisticated when it comes to our personal growth… we get it “up here,” but we struggle to really get it “in here.”
Which is why we need to re-define Self Care.
Because, although we understand that we need to take care of ourselves – that we need to put ourselves at “the top of our to-do lists,” we’re also beginning to realize that “treating ourselves” to more “me time” is never going to be enough to take care of the deeper parts of ourselves that long for more, however we may define that.
Defining your “more” is the first step.
What will it really take for you to feel fulfilled from the inside out?
Answer that question and then #goALLin to make it happen!
