Let’s hear it for Gutsy Coaches.
While I am prone to hyperbole at time, I do believe gutsy coaches just might save the world.
(And, perhaps, they might even convince the world that blue eyeshadow isn’t so horrible! I mean, have you seen NARS’ Arcturus? Gimme!)
Yeah, it takes some serious guts to start a coaching business.
Gutsy coaches understand the (BIG) difference between having a coaching practice and growing a coaching business.
So many of my coach clients confide in me (thinking they’re the only ones who think this way), that they had no idea what was involved in setting up a website, building a list, and getting paid clients. I’ll admit it, too, I had no idea.
That’s because coach training teaches you how to coach.
It doesn’t prepare you for your gutsy role as business woman.
So here’s what you need to know: Becoming a coach who and intends to work for herself, whether it’s to make a living or to simply earn extra cash, requires a gutsy mindset.
Too many coaches are blind-sided once they realize what it takes to build a coaching business.
Coaches become great coaches by honing their coaching skills. Great coaches become gutsy coaches by learning how to launch and grow a business that not only makes them money but also makes them happy. In short, gutsy coaches are also gutsy-ass business women!
What does it take to become a gutsy-ass business woman when you’re a coach?
It takes a mindset that makes you unstoppable.
It’s a growth mindset you learns while in the process of becoming a coach. Stanford University psychologist Carol S. Dweck talks about what it means to have a growth mindset in her book, Mindset: The New Psychology Of Success.
As a gutsy-ass coach and business woman with a growth mindset, you’re open to challenges, you’re committed to personal and professional development, you’re willing to invest in yourself and your business, and you realize you are smart enough. You are not required to know how to crack the MIT Time-lock Puzzle, you just have to be smart enough to know how to figure things out.
That also happens to be the exact definition of what it means to Woman UP! in every aspect of your life.
