HOW TO DIET (OR NOT) WITH DIGNITY

You Are Not Bad Or Wrong, Whether You Choose To Lose Weight, Or Not!

Don’t feel ashamed for wanting what you want.

There is no “right” answer when it comes to how women choose to be in their bodies. And make no mistake, it is ALWAYS a woman’s choice when it comes to the way she wants to be in her body.

It doesn’t matter if some people don’t like your choices – it’s none of their business.

All that matters is that you dignify yourself and your body by owning your right to decide and then letting go of all the drama.

For far too long Diet Culture has tried to convince us that the worth, virtue, and desirability of a woman depends on her size.

You can be too smart, they said. But you can never be too thin.

And we believed it. All of it.

The result? Endless self scrutiny, incessant mean-girl chatter, yo-yo dieting, food drama.

That last one? Food drama? It’s a bugger. It’s the dark cloud that hangs over everything… from our day-to-day requirements for sustenance to parties with friends to vacations with family.

WHAT IF I EAT TOO MUCH?

HOW WILL I EVER CONTROL MYSELF?

WHAT IF I GAIN WEIGHT?

Like I said, DRAMA.

Drama creates so much weight in your head and it’s that weight in your head that creates – and then holds onto – the weight on your body.

Losing the weight on your body (and keeping it off) must start with losing the weight in your head.

Period.

THE DIGNITY DIETThe ONLY diet that works is the diet that dignifies you.

Here’s the absolute bottom line, no matter how you slice and dice it:

You can go on a diet if you want to. You don’t have to go on a diet if you don’t want to.

Either way, you are the only one who gets to decide.

Ditch the drama and decide.

Manage your mind and your Dignity will return to you.

So, do you want to lose weight?

If there’s one thing I hope you’ve really heard is this:

#1: You don’t have to lose weight. You can get your Dignity back even if you don’t ever lose the weight (but chances are you will lose weight as a natural consequence of dignifying your body).

#2: It’s not true that diets don’t work. Diets do their job to get you to lose weight. Your job is to lose weight with your Dignity fully intact. That’s your work. If it doesn’t work, it’s not because of the diet.

If you want a diet to work (lose the weight and keep it off), you’ve got to be willing to work the diet (ditch the drama) in a way that dignifies your body.

If you want to lose the drama without worrying about your weight, dignify yourself.

Don’t allow anyone or anything to bully you into feeling ashamed of your choices. Whatever you choose to do, it’s your choice to make.

This is how we treat ourselves and our bodies with Dignity.

You may have noticed, Dignity is what I stand for.

Without it, there’s not much left of us.

Dignity is the foundation on which I have re-built my life.

Dignity is self care.

If you don’t have the body you want, the health you want, the life you want, I’d bet money it’s because you haven’t yet fully reclaimed your Dignity.

Let me help you get it back.
