WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR?
If you don’t know what you stand for, it’s hard to know when (and how) to speak up and take a stand.
Like I always say, talk is cheap and excuses are boring. We can say all kinds of things, but if we don’t back it up with action, what’s left of us?
How will you know you’re living your dream if you spend most of your time just dreaming about it? You can say you’re “committed,” but if your actions don’t prove it, are you really all that committed?
I’m the first to admit that it’s not easy to stand up for our values, especially in the face of the silliest of temptations (I see you, Cheese Danish) or someone’s disapproval (When are you going to get a real job?).
Do you stand UP for what you value most in life? Because to the extent that there is struggle, angst, fear, doubt, and resentment in your life, chances are, you’re not standing up for something that’s important to you.
I have worked with so many women who struggle to “live their best life” because, even though they have a pretty good idea of what they stand for, they don’t actually stand UP for it. They think they do, but if they bothered to really look at their reality, they could see that they don’t.
For example, many people will say they stand for living life on their own terms, but they hide in the shadows when it comes to putting themselves and their businesses “out there.” They say it’s because their websites are not ready or they’re not sure about their niche, but the truth is, Self-Doubt has them paralyzed.
The same goes for taking care of our bodies. We can say we care about our health, but the proof is always in the way we treat our bodies—how we feed them, how often we move them, and most importantly, how we feel about them.
I completely understand. And I’ve learned how to put a choke-hold on Self-Doubt.
Has it been easy? Absolutely not.
Self-Doubt is a real bitch. It’s sneaky. It’s like a chameleon, camouflaging itself to look like the best excuses we can ever come up with!
But when I stand up against Self-Doubt because my Integrity matters more, I invariably win.
Self-Doubt withers in the face of Integrity.
See how this works?
My life and my business are built on one of my highest values: Integrity.
Living in integrity is not always easy, but it is simple: Know what you stand for and then stand up for it.
Are you ready to stand up for what you say matters most to you?

Once you have decided what you stand for, the next question is: Are you willing to Woman UP and Stand UP for what’s important to you?
It takes guts to stand up for what you believe in, but not standing up is the slow path to a very dark and lonely place: REGRET.
